Prestatyn Former Library

Working alongside Wynne Construction Ltd for a housing development for older people in Prestatyn built on the site of the old Prestatyn library that was demolished last year. There will be a modern commercial space on the ground floor and 14, one-bedroom apartments on the first and second floor of the building.

Former library to new housing

It’s great to see a scheme come to life. From a simple piece of A3 paper to a dramatic building rising from the ground for people to fully benefit from. Buildings are taken for granted by most of us – until we stop and look at the skills and knowledge that go into creating perfect solutions.

The Denbighshire Housing development, which has been named “Llys LlÊn” to celebrate the site’s previous use as a library, will provide energy-efficient apartments designed for older persons including those with limited mobility. Energy in the apartments will be generated by ground source heat pumps and solar panels on the roof to create improved energy efficient living for future residents.

The project started in March 2022 and is due for completion in Spring 2023. You can read more on the construction and details from Wynne here.
