Edge Hill University Technology Hub
Established in 1985 Edge Hill University, based in Ormskirk, Liverpool, has over 10,000 full-time students. As part of their aim to continually develop their state of the art campus and fulfill their vision of a visually inspiring, sustainable environment, the university invested £13.5 million into the development of a new technology hub which would be home to the university’s department of computing. Through main contractor, John Turner and Sons, the original Leven’s building was retained and refurbished with a glazed link connecting it to the new Technology Hub which was developed as a key resource for over 600 computing students. Alongside subcontractor, Bretton, Architectural, ADC joined the team to provide access expertise for the groundbreaking project installing a set of bi-part sliding aluminium automatic entrance doors to the front of the lobby. Bretton Architectural chose ADC because of our industry experience and excellent reputation working on educational establishments
